High-Street Shops and Designer Labels

The main shopping districts in Harrogate are centred around streets such as James Street and Parliament Street, where both high-street favourites and designer labels come together. The shops in Harrogate town are known for their inviting, boutique feel, offering something unique compared to the typical high-street experience found in large cities.

James Street

James Street is lined with some of the UK’s favourite brands, such as The White Company, Jo Malone, Joules, and Mint Velvet. For fashion enthusiasts, the street has a refined mix of classic high-street names, alongside designer labels offering seasonal collections and luxurious pieces. Many visitors are charmed by the street’s scenic, pedestrian-friendly layout, making it easy to shop leisurely and explore.

Parliament Street

Just around the corner, Parliament Street presents a fantastic selection of shops catering to both men’s and women’s fashion. Here you’ll find Moda in Pelle, a shoe boutique that specialises in high-quality leather footwear, and Hoopers, a department store offering an array of designer clothing, accessories, and cosmetics.

You’ll find Westminister Arcade on Parliament Street. First opening its doors to shoppers in 1898, it is surprisingly seen as a secret gem by locals. The shops are limited here but the construction of the building is a sight to behold! With a collection of book stores and tea rooms, this is a great place to go for a coffee and soak in the architecture.
